This original etching by Ian McNicol was conceived specifically for the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition based on the theme of ‘Climate’.
 
It is an original work of art – it is not a print of a drawing or painting!  The etching is made on a steel plate which has been etched with the artwork by hand, immersed in acid to bite into the steel plate.  The plate is then ‘inked up’ and wiped and then passed through an etching press with damp paper where the ink is transferred onto the paper to create the etching you see.  Each one is a unique print made in an edition of 50.
